Arizona Mini Sprint Association was formed to promote a low cost - high excitement form of open wheel racing.
The mini sprint car is a 5/8 scale sprint car racing with a wing and also non-wing. The cars weigh a minimum of 825 pounds with driver when running a 750cc motor. The 618cc motor cars have a minimum of 750 pound weight with driver. The engines are 4 cycle chain drive motorcycle power- plants. There are maximum horsepower and torque rules as well as a required use of a spec tire on the rear to help control costs and keep the class a "family" sport that all can enjoy and afford.
The average age of current drivers is 35 years old. The class is open to male and female drivers 16 years old and older. This form of open wheel racing is a great way to train for a racing career and graduate to other forms of racing such as midgets etc.
Weekly races pay off with main event winner receiving $200. There is also over $18,000 in points money for the end of the year.
